The class was made up about 5 years ago, for drivers to get into powerboat racing at a very minimal cost, basicaly taking your weekend ski boat and going racing. Changes to the boat have to meet APBA standards and for the drivers safety.
The restricted class is a very competitive, Ford VS Chev, Driver VS Driver. It is one of the biggest classes of powerboat racing in NSW and is growing each meeting with new people getting involved.
The class has rules which you must follow.
- cast iron heads no off set rockers
- production car block no after market blocks
- Mobil 9000 pump fuel
- No bigger than a 850 holly carby with chock horns
- manifold height of 183cm to base of carby
- no sheet metal manifolds
- Standard oil systems, No dry sumps
- Noise to 95 db on the water

I began racing in 6Ltr Restricted 2 years ago my first meeting being at Deepwater, the class is full of everyday guys who have the same passion to go racing on Sunday then work on Monday.
We all talk to each other and are always there to lend a hand or play a joke on each other.
The class is a crowd favorite with very tight racing and nearly always 2 heats. Our prize money is equally shared between all Drivers so last place gets the same as first place to keep everyone interested.
